This article attempts to draw the profile of the Cypriot adults with regards to skills of computer literacy, based on recent data from the :Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies’ (PIAAC). According to PIAAC, almost one in four Cypriots does not have the experience or basic skills in using a computer, which is higher than the respective international percentage (14%). The lack of experiences or basic skills in computer use is indicated to a higher extent in adults that reside in the Famagusta district, are of low educational level and belong to the age group 55-65. There is no differentiation according to the gender. Adults with computer skills tend to have higher levels of numeracy, compared to adults without experiences or basic skills. However, this is not the case for literacy, as adults without basic computer skills tend to perform better in reading, compared to adults with computer skills.
