In modern times, the phenomenon of burnout is directly related to work stress and education is directly affected by it.
Burnout is a mental syndrome that occurs in teachers with great frequency. What is studied is the degree of effect of this phenomenon on special education teachers. The lack of such research was the impetus for conducting the present research on special education teachers of primary and secondary education in Larissa. The method of convenience sampling was used for the selection of the sample, while for the collection and analysis of our research data was used the technique of the semi-structured interview. The results showed that the contact with parents and a bad work environment are amongst the main factors causing burnout, with the most important physical symptoms being tension and eating disorders. The adoption of a healthy lifestyle, self-assessment and training are the solutions and preventive methods that were presented.
