Cognitive Interests and Scenarios that Implement ICT in Education for Sustainable Development

The present study focuses on Habermas’ three cognitive interests (technical, practical, emancipatory) and their implementation in Education for Sustainable Development using ICT. Cognitive interests are used as a guide in a study of six educational scenarios. The study found that all three cognitive interests are present in the scenarios. Ways in which the emancipatory cognitive interest can be articulated in the teaching process are proposed.
