The present research focuses on one of the fundamental elements of the educational process, student performance. In particular, it investigates the views of students and teachers regarding whether the rhetoric club under study affects the performance of the students participating in it, in the Modern Greek Language subject. For the research of the issue, both quantitative and qualitative research methods were used (self-completed questionnaire and semi-structured interview). The analysis of the results shows that, according to the students and the teachers, the rhetoric club under study, with the cultivation of skills that cover all stages of oral and written text production (pre-writing/pre-speaking stage, while writing/while speaking stage, post-writing/post-speaking stage), contributes to the improvement of students in terms of argumentation, speech structure and expression, and creates favorable conditions for improving their performance in the Modern Greek Language subject.
