This article presents and describes the literacy practices and language use of four bilingual adolescent girls that live in Cyprus. The present research was conducted for the purposes of a Master Thesis at the University of Cyprus. The case study focuses on the girls’ out- of-school literacy practices, as they emerged from interviews, observations and field notes, questionnaires and digital texts. Particularly, the study examines texts produced in out-of-school context, the digital communities in which the girls interact and their attitudes and values towards the language varieties of their repertoire. From the data analysis, the interaction between literate and linguistic/multilingual identity is investigated as it emerges through the literacy practices, the language use and language attitudes of all four participants.
