Evaluation and Review of the Curriculum on the Subject of Social and Political Education in the Context of Critical Pedagogy- Human Rights

The present study evaluates and revises the Curriculum on the subject of Social and Political Education in the context of Critical Pedagogy. More specifically, it deals with the section of Human Rights studied in the fifth and sixth grade of the primary school. Reference is made to the Curriculum, its importance and its function in the teaching practice Following, reference is made to the Critical Pedagogy, its principles and its objectives. It emphasises on the particular importance of Critical Pedagogy in the Curriculum through the main representatives of the Critical Pedagogy. In addition, it carries out a further analysis of the Curriculum of the Social and Political Education subject and it evaluates the cognitive object in the section of Human Rights. Finally, it outlines the objectives and suggests activities, it makes a critical evaluation of the subject and mentions the reflections and suggestions raised in the context of the Critical Pedagogy.
