Abstract

School-to-family collaboration relies on building successful communication channels, reinforcing the teaching process and the learning process that takes place in school. School and teacher communication practices with parents were studied in the present research work, following the quantitative example of an approach, using an Epstein thematic questionnaire called "Communication". N = 151 Primary Education teachers from Trikala schools participated.

The analysis of the results showed that teachers mostly declare that they communicate with parents to provide them with clear information on the curriculum, assessment and achievements of children, school activities and pupils, without asking for feedback from their parents. School tactics are limited to teachers' initiatives.

The results contribute to the improvement of methods and practices of communication with parents so, these results are useful for both teachers and parents.
