Abstract

The present study of bibliographic review aims to examine the ways that parents contribute to the improvement of students’ learning results in primary and secondary education, with the use of sources by approved and published researches as well as meta-analyses of the international scientific academic community. It begins with the definition of relevant concepts and the brief description of two of the most predominant models depicting the effect of the family environment to the children’s education. Subsequently, the examination of parental “involvement” is carried out, based on school and home. The results of this inquiry on those parameters are discussed and compared with the main parameters of the two models of “involvement”. Finally, a further discussion of the subject is being is made and the paper concludes with the findings in answer to the research questions.
