The purpose of this research study is to examine students' perception of the 'ideal' teacher. An examination of students' perceptions about the ideal teacher can contribute to school reform through improvement of teacher-students relatioaship as well as the learning environment. The data for this study consisted of drawing, written essays and interviews with the students. The analysis of the data was done through categorical aggregation and open coding techniques. The main thematic categories that came up in the analysis were the following: the personal characteristics of a teacher, the nature of a teacher’s instructional practices, and the nature of the teacher-students’ relationship.
