Recruitment of Cooperative Networks to promote inclusive education in the light of the Intermediate Inverted Leadership Model

Abstract

The model of Intermediate Intermediate Inverted Leadership Model (IIL) (derived from a previous study by the author), aims to strengthen the struggle of the principal of a secondary school to create an inclusive school environment for students with disabilities). However, the application of this leadership model has been investigated in a single school, which limits this research. The present study is dedicated to reviewing the capabilities of the IIL model. It was conducted based on action research methodology, within a network of cooperation between four schools in Cyprus. Four different schools participated, which are located in the four cities of the island (Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia). Weekly meetings were also held in the four schools between teams from the four schools. The teams consisted of the Heademaster, two Intermediate leaders, three Assistant Headmsters and four teachers. In addition, the study, which lasted 10 months, involved 34 parents and 273 teachers.
