The evaluation of students in school is an integral part of the learning process, but also of the overall social function of school. The present study deepens the topical issue of evaluation, focusing on the views of teachers regarding the descriptive assessment and evaluation with grades. Initially, an attempt is conceptual clarification of the concept of evaluation and then to analyze the theoretical background of descriptive assessment and evaluation with degrees, focusing on the benefits and disadvantages of these forms for both teachers and students. Finally, the aim is presented, the objectives, the research methodology, results, conclusions and recommendations of the researches’ practical application and further research.
