Abstract

In his study on Turkish diplomacy from 1923 to 2003, Jean Catsiapis tends to show how Ankara experienced successes as well as setbacks in two areas: the Cypriot question and the Iraqi problem. The aurhor emphasizes that it was impossible for Turkey to carry out multidimensional diplomacy, oriented primarily towards the Turkish-speaking countries of Central Asia and Islamic states which are members of the Islamic Conference Organisation Turkish diplomacy has remained focussed on one goal only: EU membership.
