Secteurs d’Activités et Conditions de Travail des Grecs du Québec
Abstract
This text provides a socio-professional profile of the Greeks of Quebec. The author presents the results of field work that show that the great majority of Greeks work in the garment, restaurant, cleaning and construction industries. Relying on these results, and on other information, the author observes that the working conditions of Quebec’s Greeks are below average, that they are both under-employed and over-exploited. He explains that they have been inadequately protected by legislation, and that their average earnings are below the national average.
