The author also highlights the Spanish interest in the Greek world during the Ottoman Empire. The current situation of modern Greek studies in Spain follows. The author describes a lively yet fragile field of study. He believes that the result of current efforts will depend on careful choices and coordination. He calls upon the Greek state to play a crucial role therein.
