Abstract

The present study attempts an effort to delineate a social phenomenon that has hardly been connected with the school community: psychological terrorism The phenomenon of psychological terrorism constitutes a reality that intervenes in school process impeding not only the leaning and developing processes but the function of school as institution.
The analysis of the specific phenomenon in its constituent elements aims to make it recognizable and identifiable both to teachers and students. On the basis of the clarification and delimitation of the term psychological terrorism, there are presented and analyzed the phenomena bullying and mobbing within schools. Those phenomena are initially approached as separate phenomena of school violence, whereas they are analyzed as different dimensions of the wider social phenomenon of psychological terrorism. There are also presented some certain traits of personality that usually characterize the children who play either the role of bully or the victim and bystander role, as well as the common mechanisms that assumed to be functioning while such phenomena arc taking place.
Finally, some certain general directions are given with regard to international tendencies in the approach and confrontation ostrich phenomena.
