This research is focused on the relation of pupils' self-image (self-concept and self-esteem) with certain socio-demographic characteristics, such as gender, school grade, population of school region, professional-academic ambitions, number of siblings and family social profile (father's occupation and parents education). The key aim of this research is the localization and evaluation of the effects these characteristics have on pupils' general self-concept and self-esteem These effects often determine decisively the formation of children's decision making processes and their actions, pre-shaping, partly, the development of their whole personality. Approximately 2450 pupils from schools of Epirus-Hellas participated in this research, by filling in a self-concept and self-esteem questionnaire-scale as well as by answering a group of questions concerning all the above socio-demographic characteristics. The statistically significant mean differences of Self-concept/esteem among the difef rent levels of most of the above variables, as well as relevant conclusions of this research, can be very useful to experts as well as to parentsrelatives. They can be acquainted with all these inner relations and thus be enabled to intervene effectively, responding to pupils' individual needs and difef rences.
