In this paper we explore the politics of the Federation of Secondary School Teachers in Greece (O.L.M.E.) regarding the role of the secondary school advisor since 1982. More specifically, by using the content analysis, O.L.M.E.’s positions about the institutional changes for the school advisor are examined and its attitudes and suggestions are presented, based on its official bulletins. It is pointed out that O.L.M.E. was genuinely concerned about the school advisor in the period under consideration, although it criticized the selection procedures of the school advisors as well as their institutional role in the school education.
