Abstract

In this article we make a point about Elias Venezis’ political affiliation in the ideological space of Marxism between the years 1927 to 1946. Under this light, we gather and evaluate information about his life, looking into his works of the period, tracing Marxist intellectual elements. Having conducted research into his articles and literature production, the opinions of Greek intelligentsia about his life and work as well as his relationship with the Left and Right critics and writers, we aim to establish his move towards Marxist ideas – although this is not always steady and explicit. We have traced his political activity and revised the impact of Marxism on his work during these certain years, arguing that his contact with communist writers and their ideas had a noticable impact on his works.
