Abstract

The current paper investigates the way the constructs of language, identity and space interact among immigrants in the context of Cyprus. In particular, the paper examines the way immigration as a transitional process influences existing linguistic repertoires and identity perceptions among immigrants. The methodology adopted is qualitative, employing in-depth personal interviews among fifty adult immigrants from different countries who immigrated to Cyprus over the last ten years.
